  1. Wash the lentils and soak in water for 30 minutes. The level of water should be about 3 cm higher than the beans. Add the ☆ ingredients and microwave for 15 minutes.

  8. Mix and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, and 10 minutes over a low heat. Add the garam masala in the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  9. It's ready to serve. They call this Dal in Hindi. Add butter, salt, pepper or lemon if you like.
